Regional Vehicle Miles Travelled Analysis Tool

VMT model.png

To assist member agencies with complying to SB 743 mandates, the SGVCOG worked with member agencies to analyze existing traffic conditions in the region to develop a baseline standard that determines significance CEQA thresholds for future land use and transportation projects. Member agencies have now adopted these criteria in compliance with SB 743.  As part of the process, a web-based tool was developed to allow city staff and developers to determine if a proposed project would require a full VMT analysis based on each city’s adopted CEQA criteria. This project was recently recognized as a finalist project for the "Sustainable/Environmental Enhancement Program of the Year Award" at the California Transportation Foundation's 32nd Transportation Awards.
